Warren W. Baumgartner (1894-1963)

 

Born in Oakville, Missouri, Baumgartner studied at the Art Institute of Chicago under J. Wellington Reynolds and at the Grand Central School with Pruett Carter and Walter Biggs. He contributed both color and black-and-white story illustrations to Collier’s, Woman’s Home Companion, and The Saturday Evening Post in the 1930s and 1940s, as well as producing advertising illustrations throughout his career. He worked primarily in watercolor.
